Being sued my credit card company
My father yesterday received court documents to appear in court in 10 days because he's being sued by TARGET for about $5k he doesn't speak English very well .hes on disability , depression and taking medication and receives social security. He lives with me and with his social security he pays rent gets about $400 a month all goes to rent he has no assets nothing under his name. But owes a lot with credit card companies TARGET isn't the only one I honestly don't even know or he knows what the charges are from so I don't know what to do to help out my father. I don't know if it makes sense to call out of work to go with my father and loose a day of pay what can they do to him he has nothing not even a penny to his name only thing is he gets his ss check and give it to me for rent. What should I do? Should we go to court we can't afford a lawyer I have my own problems ? He has bank account that his SS check gets direct deposit. Should we close that account and have SS send the check in mail?? Please help me out thank you very much
