Sears lawn tractor stops after about an hour
    I have a sears lawn tractor 26hp and a 54" deck. Model# 917.276900
    Automatic transmission.

As I am cutting my lawn the lawn tractor gets slower and slower and
Then stops completely. Let it sit for about 1hour and cool off it'll go
Again for awhile. Does it sound like the V belt needs replacing and
If that maybe the answer how do I replace the V belt

    Thanks for all the help

You don't say whether the motor stops or the drive portion quits and the motor keeps running. If the motor slows and then stops I would suggest changing the fuel filter. It's probobly starving for gas.

Sorry, when it stops on me the engine is still running and the blades are still engaged. It won't go forward or
    Backwards.

    Thanks again

Have you checked the fluid levels in the transmission? Sounds like it is slipping. When it stops is the motor running fast or does it slow down too?

Everything runs fine no slow downs what so ever. As the tractor slows
There is sound almost like a grinding noise when I push on the pedal
To move. That's is howi know it's getting ready to stop the noise gets
    Louder.

Sounds like you are running with a dry transmission. Check the oil in the transmission. And look for any metal fragments in it.
