John Deer LT 155 replacement motor
I need a replacement 14 hp motor for my LT155 riding mower with the 42 inch "Freedom" Mulching Deck. What is a good replacement and where can I find one for the least cost? Thanks in advance for the help, Bill

EBAY is a good place to look.. keep in mind you can use pretty much any brand (may have to mess with the wiring) and go more horse power as well... so your not limited to just 14hp
What was the old engine brand?

Sorry, I posted from memory and should have checked. It's a 15 hp Kohler
    Family: SKH426U1GZRB
    MODEL CV15S

On top of motor it says: John Deere 15 hp, Overhead Valves, cast iron cylinder liner, full pressure lubrication, oil filter, C series design.

Well, pretty much any brand you can get will go on... if you stick with kohler... more then likely you can leave the wiring alone...

A rod broke ion my lt155 and I put a 15 horse off a craftsman. It had a place for a fuel pump but craftsman is gravity fed so I took a chance and took a hole saw and bored out the side of the engine and dag gone it had a lobe on the cam to run the fuel pump. Bolted the fuel pump on the craftsman kohler and running like a scalded dog. Tried a vacuum fuel pump on a kohler but for some reason could not get it to work so that is why I took a chance and bored the hole out on the craftsmen kohler
