Moving my laundry room to the basement
Currently my laundry room is on the main floor and I would like to move it into the basement. Right now it is off the kitchen going into the garage. It is really small and loud when watching TV. My basement is unfinished right now but we are looking to finish it within the year. We do already have the basement prepped for toilet and vanity hook up. My question is, would it be costly to move my washer and dryer to the basement? Is it a big job or would it be rather simple?

You ask about the cost. It depends upon who does the work. I don't iknow what you call "simple" But the job's made easier with the lavatory rough in.
Install a sanitary tee on the lavatory drain in the wall and close to the floor to pick up the washer station and pipe five feet over to the washer trap and standpipe,(see image).
The washer will be vented by the lavatory vent and use the lavatory drain line. Good luck, Tom

Tom is correct. This should be a simple job for a plumber, and very do-able for a homeowner with the correct advice. Can you post a picture of your basement bathroom roughin? If you can, we should be able help you. Also, we will need to know where you plan to install the washer in regards to the bathroom.
