Hello!

I have a pool filter system that I need to backwash. The drain for the filter is a 2" PVC pipe. When I went to the pool store I purchased a 1.5" extension hose, and unfortunately I cannot return it.

I went out and purchased a couple PVC fittings to attach the 1.5" hose onto the 2" PVC pipe, and I think it will work fine, but my father told me that it might cause too much pressure and create some problems.

I don't want to go buy another backwash hose for $50, so could you guys out there kindly let me know if this will be dangerous at all? Or no worries go ahead!

You should be fine with this hose. There will be some extra back pressure but nothing to worry about.
