    Pesky moles
How do I get rid of moles in my flower garden? I've already killed one, well my husband killed one. I was just wondering if I should expect to see more and if so , how can I get rid of them? My lilies are looking and smelling so great and I don't want the moles to destroy them. I've never had any problems with moles or slugs and they've both tested my nerves this summer(July 2009) Can someone help?

There is a product you can water into the ground that carries eucalyptus and eugenol oils as a repellant. I think one of the brands is called "Mole-stop." It comes in a hose end spray bottle. Next year make sure to apply a soil insecticide right before the soil temperature reaches 60 degrees. In Carolina that's February; in Ohio that's May; in Alaska that's about now.

Edit: For slugs there are bait pellets or the old folk remedy of putting out a disposable plate of beer at night.
