Crown lengthening surgery vs. dental implants
I just read the discussion on crown lengthening surgery, but apparently the thread is now closed, so I'm starting it again. My situation is this: I have to decide whether to get crown lengthening surgery OR dental implants. I've read about both procedures, but still can't decide. Can anyone help?

Depends on a lot of factors but for a back tooth (where esthetics are not important) I think implants are best... the long term prognosis for tooth with little structure remaining is not that great... your natural teeth are best, but if the tooth is really broken badly, get it yanked and get the implant... if there is enough tooth to support a crown, then get the surgery and it should last awhile
