    Remote ceiling fan/light
I moved to a home with a hampton bay remote fan/light. It is not working remote or manual. I removed the cover to expose the wires. There is power to the remote unit. There is a black and white wire going in, and a black, blue, and white coming out. I couldn't care less about the remote and I just want to bypass it. I assume the white and black wires hook together. Where does the blue wire connect to. If I am totally wrong, please hook me up correctly. Thank you, tony

The black of the fan goes to the fan, the blue of the fan goes to the light. If you remove the remote the ususal way of connecting is to connect the black fan to the black hot of the house wiring and the blue to the switched hot. The fan is controlled by the pull chain and the light is controlled by the switch. Describe the house wires in the ceiling box.

3 wires from ceiling are all white... 3 wires from fan-light motor are black, white, and blue... attached each wire from motor to separate ceiling wire...
Fan works; light does not... should the blue wire be connected differently?
