    Create a new internet shortcut on desktop, sends me to the wrong webpage.
    I have Vista Home Premium 64-bit. When I right click and create a new shortcut it sends me to a different webpage than the one I typed in.

    For example, I first entered google.com into the shortcut and left the .lnk file name as "New Internet Shortcut" and that worked fine. Now when I create new shortcut and enter youtube.com and name it "New Internet Shortcut" (After deleting the previous file) it still sends me to google.com.

    The weird part is that to bypass this I just rename the file from "New Internet Shortcut" to "Youtube" and it will take me to Youtube.com. But if I want to create a new shortcut and enter hotmail.com and name it "Youtube" (again after deleting the previous link) it sends me to youtube.com.

    I've had this PC for only 3 weeks and I was hesitant to get it because of Vista. I've tried fixing the registry for .lnk files but that didn't work. Can you please suggest anything else I can do to fix it?

    Thanks

    Hello;

    Did you type the URL completely (Google) and for the YouTube (http://www.youtube.com)?

    Also, after you create your new web shortcut, please right click on your shortcut and point on Properties, and see what URL indicates under (Web Document tab)

    CHEERS & do let me know if it doesn't work

    Yes I did both and I typed YouTube - Broadcast Yourself. and still got google.com. In the properties the shortcut still shows as YouTube - Broadcast Yourself. and sends me to Google
