    Visitation for babies under 3
My 21 yr old daughter has a 2 month old baby. The babies daddy hasn't had anything to do with the baby since it was born.. Now all the sudden he wants his rights.. The baby does not know him.. I want supervised visitation, and no overnights or weekends until the baby is age 3.. Is this too much to ask for in the state of Texas??

Unfortunately, what you want isn't important and has no legal bearing whatsoever. It's between your daughter, the child's father and the court ; mostly the court. What the judge says will go. His/her decision will be based on Texas law regarding these matters, both statutory law as well as legal precedent. You can talk with an attorney if you'd like to know what the norm is for this type of situation but realize that you have no control over the situation. Also, regardless of the usual norm in Texas, or anywhere else as for that matter, the judge has a wide degree of latitude to exercise his/her discretion in any individual case.
