Age in Ohio that a child can choose parent
At what age in Ohio can a child choose where they want to live. 14 YO granddaughter lives with mother in GA but wants to live in Ohio for high school as mother moves around all the time.

She really can't choose but I would think that if the mother wants her back and the grandparents want to give her back they can go into court on a mutal agreement and ask the Judge to grant that. That is unless she was taken off the mother for some abuse/neglect reason.

    18. A child can never choose. If the non-custodial parent files for a change of custody, the child's opinion may be factored into the decision. Ultimately it is up to the court to decide what is best for the child though.
