    Ear standing of German Shepherd
    Hi everyone,
I have the same problem with my German Shepherd pup, he was born on 11th march 2009.
That makes him apporx. 14 week old or almost 4 months. Still one of his ear keeps on half standing up and down, the other one is still not standing up. Both of his parents have no problem like that in fact they are pedigreed.
Should I be worried about it and is there anything that I need to do. He is on Pedigree Puppy Chow feed.
Kindly let me know what I should be doing.
    Thanks

By the time he is an adult, his ears will be standing. Most German Shep pups are like that, one ear down, one up. It is a characteristic about them that I just adore.

You can take him to the vet and have the ear taped. Mine had his floppy ear taped to the standing ear. He has never had any problems since.

My GSD is also of good pedigree - one of her ears stands up. The other one she carries up, down, sideways, as it suits her.

I've had GSD all my life and she is the first one who did NOT have stand up ears.

The Vet feels she was in a too-small kennel when she was a baby (she's a rescue) and it may have ruptured the cartilage in her ear.
