    Job elimination
My position at the company I work for in Ohio was eliminated about two years ago. I was not let go, but placed into another position making about $10,000 less a year. They have placed someone else into the same job title just three months ago. I have been with this company for 7 years and have consistently received exceptional performance reviews. Are they required to offer the position to me or can they just hand it over to someone else?

    Employment agreement? Union? Written policy?

I live in Ohio and it is an At Will state. Employers can let their employees go at any time and employees can leave at any time -- unless there is a contract. However, it must be for reasons other than illegal discrimination and then there is a two-year statute of limitations on filing discriminations claims -- and about 180 (may be a little more now) days with the EEOC.
