    I have a 8 year old daugther that her real father has never seen her and I was wondering how long does it have to be before she is considered being abandon even if he is paying child support? Please help I am very confused:confused:

    It is never abandonment if he is paying child support, he is still having legal contact by sending the check.

    Of course if you want to take away his rights as a father, I doubt he would care. ( since it would mean he would not have to pay child support any longer)

    Get an attorney and have the attorney contact your child's father and see if he would be willing to sign his rights away.

    There is no such precedent considering her to be "abandoned." Her father can petition the court for visitation at any time. He may not get everything he asks for, given the fact that he hasn't seen for for any of her first 8 years but he'll definitely get something if he chooses to pursue it.
