    Mancesa toilet
I recently bought a Mancesa toilet I think the model number is PM300 1.6 gallon flush bought from Menards. It will sometimes flush but most of the time it will not the toilet I took out was working correctly when replaced. Can you give me the manufacturer to contact to see if there are any recalls. I have done all the adjustments I know, I have even replaced the plunger which will let it flush sometimes. You can pour a small amount of water maybe a quart while flushing and it will go down but it spits back when you do this. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I bought it in Peoria Il while visiting my Mother and live in Cape Girardeau MO, we do not have a Menards here.

    Thanks bfarrow

In my capacity as shop trouble shooter I began to run into a slew of complaints on our new construction that were just like yours. I knew they all couldn't be " bad toilets" so I went looking for the cause. I found that when installing the new bowl that the wax ring had been forced out into the discharge pipe and blocking the free flow of water. When the water hit it a backpressure was set up preventing the siphon that makes a good flush and the solids just swirled around while the water went slowly down. I had to set up meeting with our plumbers and show them the problem and how to fix it. When you set the bowl, put the wax seal down on the flat side to the closet flange. Then take your hands and bevel the wax seal outward so that when you set a bowl on it the wax is forced out instead of in blocking the flush. The customer complaints stopped and I had less work to do. Try molding the wax seal so it doesn't choke down on the flush. Good luck, Tom

Tom's fix should help but not all toilets on the market work perfectly with the 1.6 g requirement. I installed several Patriot toilets and all have what I would call frequent incomplete flushes.

We have these same toilets in our home. I hate both of them. I always have to hold the lever down to get enough water. On some "occasions" I have to flush twice. They don't even have water around the sides to flush the cleaner when I am cleaning. I must go back with a brush to get the cleaner off the sides.

I'm not a professional, but have installed and fixed several commodes. On the small, low water capacity toilets I always put in a taller overflow pipe and raise the water level in the tank. Then it will flush.

I'm pretty sure it's not supposed to BUT does the tank on a Mancesa toilet supposed to move back and forth? My maintenance man says it's supposed to do that I'm calling BS on this one.
