Film about lumberjacks ! I was convinced it starred Jeff, Beau and Lloyd Bridges, but can't find a description that matches on their CV's.
Some classic film of mad lumber men, can't remember too much about the plot but, there are memorable moments, where one of the guys chops the managers desk in half with huge chainsaw (" that was my daddy's desk").
Another where one of the three is trapped under a fallen tree, the water rises, they keep him alive by mouth to mouth, then he laughs, and drowns...
The end of the film has them chugging down the river with the severed arm of their father I think on the mast of the boat.

Sometimes A Great Notion from 1970, with Paul Newman (who also directed), Henry Fonda, Lee Remick, and Richard Jaeckel. Based on the Ken Kesey novel. I saw this once on late-night TV... gosh, probably almost 30 years ago. The drowning scene is quite memorable.

This title was also used for one of the best Galactica episodes of the final season.
