My rights while my wife is on probation
    June 30, 2009
My wife is on federal probation. Part of the agreement is that they will make home visits and conduct searches. Our my rights to searchs, inquries protected or our my rights gone because of her agreement? Can I expect that they will not search my personal items or areas?

You share common rooms so I would think they would be able to search anywhere because what's to keep your wife from stashing anything in your sock drawer or your tool box if it is a safe area.
OR if they find something what is to keep her from saying that belongs to my husband and isn't mine, didn't know a thing about it.

My boyfriend is on parole and we share a room. When ever his p.o. comes into our house she has the right to search everything that is in an area that he has access to. This means our drawers, our closet, etc. The only thing that she cannot search is somewhere that is locked and inacessable to him. (Such as my safe, that only I have the key to.) Im pretty sure it varies from state to state though (I live in California).
