    Claiming moving expenses of spouse
My wife and I lived in different cities previously. I moved from east coast to the west coast as a result of a job change and my wife moved from the city she was living in.

Under Moving Expenses (form 3903), can I claim expenses of my wife's travel and her goods from the city in which she was to our new city?

Also, some of her goods were moved 5 months after I started my work in the new city. Can I claim those expenses?

Is it necessary to have receipts of all our moving expenses?

We are filing as married filing jointly.

Yes, if she meets the requirements of distance and time, she can claim moving expenses. She can also claim under moving expenses for goods moved after 5 months. The limit is one year.
No receipt need to be attached with the tax return. However, you must keep the records in case IRS questions the expenses. Your U.S. Tax Return: Moving Expenses
