How can I move out of state with my child if I live in Texas and want to move to wasington state? I have two children, and my parents who are my support system are relocating there and I think the atmosphere there will benefit my children. The father of my youngest son does not really approve, but we are not married and I have custody. What is the best way of doing this? Please help!

Does the father of either child have joint custody or visitation?

And if the father "does not really approve", he can certainly make it difficult for you to legally move with the child.

The main question is whether there are any court orders in place that cover custody and/or visitation. We need to know about them before we can answer.
