I need to replace the cartridge in a moen Kitchen fAUCET I went to there web site and they say In need a 1224 cartridge I have at home from a previous repair a 1224b cartridge can these be used interchangeably?

You do know that Moen will send you a free replacement cartrdige for life, right? I have not seen a 1224b but there must be some difference and why take the chance when the correct one is free. Can't Turn Light Off

Did you call Moen and asked them for replacement as me and Bob Suggested?

I was trying to get the answer yesterday when moen was closed as I had a spare cartrdige at home. I have received my asnswer fom both the previous poster and moen today

1224 & 1224b are inerchangable at least in terms of the moen faucet that I have


And yes they are sending out a spare cartridge as well at no charge

Did you say that Moen says the two are totally interchangeable? I know they look alike and are both for two handled set ups hot or cold. It just does not make sense to me for them to make and label two cartrdiges with different model numbers. Glad to hear you took advanyage of their warranty.
