I need to know the movie of a couple where the mother gives birth to her daughter but then dies so the father has to take car of her. A lady comes in the picture and eventually the father moves on. Its an old movie. Probably 90s

There are probably tons of movies with similar scenarios, any more info? What genre is it? My first thought was Jack & Sarah (1995)
