    Gun Law in Texas
My fiancé is moving back to Texas and wants to get a gun. Legal with title. He told me before he left about it and says the way he's doing it is perfectly legal. He says you can be over 18 and also have an extended clip. Now I read that you have to be over 21, have a permit and have less than a 10 round and no silencer. Someone please help me with this. I don't want him to get into trouble!!

To purchase a handgun the federal law is that one must be at least 21 years of age.

Call a gun store in Texas, they will probably be helpful. Just ask them if they sell the items you are curious about, if they are illegal in the state they will know right away. You do have to be 21 to purchase as the other poster said, but some states do allow for an underage person to obtain a permit to carry certain weapons, make a call an official licensing office to find out if Texas allows something like that.

Silencers are legal for civilians to own, but a tax has to be paid to the BATF upon purchase (if it's bought new). It is wise to double check in your particular county/city just to make 100% sure though. Some gun laws are Federal, some are State and some are local to your city or county so it is always advised to double check. The laws can vary from place to place within the same state.
