    Nordyne not cooling
We just had our Nordyne unit charged with freon and a sealant put into it one month ago. Unit is not cooling. Condenser is running. Could it be the relay?

If I hadn't had them put the can of sealant in I would think so, however, my understanding is that the sealant stays in the system forever filling pin holes. But I should check to see if the compressor is coming on. I know the fan is, that's obvious but let me see if I hear the compressor and I will let you know. Thank you

Some times the seal will cause the compressor not to run, yon may need a hard start kit, also if the leak was bigger then anticapated it may have not sealed and the freon has leaked again.

Right, I am with you about if it were a big leak. The fan is turning on the compressor but I don't hear the normal "humm" it sounds different, a little bit rattley. Maybe I should try the hard start kit. If I do have a bigger leak, I know that probably means new unit, but if I try the hard start kit would that be a "no harm no foul" if it doesn't work

Thank you for all your help today. Connections on the compressor were corroded. Cleaned them up. Installed new capacitor and new contactor and we are bringing in 61 degrees of some much needed air. Thanks for sticking with me.
