    Rentel deposit recovery
Last year my friend and I wanted to rent a apartment, but she had bad credit and a felony on her record. My mom agreed to co-sign for a year, after the year she would no longer be responsible. We all signed a 1 yr lease. I paid the 17,000.00 dollar deposit with my personal ck. Well after our lease was up, I Had to move because I got laid off and could no longer afford to pay rent. I gave my room mate and land Lord 30 day notice, as stated ti lease. My roommate said she wanted to find a another person to rent room. The land Lord will not give my deposit back and says it is her responsibility to pay me. She says money. What should I do?

The apartment is not vacated, therefore the deposit is still being held in case damages occur. What sort of apartment is this that the deposit was $17k??

I assumed since the comma and period where in the right place, he meant $17k... We'll see when he comes back.
