Factor: $x^{2}-5x+6$

What two numbers when added equals -5 and when multiplied equals 6?

How about -3 and -2? (-3)(-2)=6 and -3+(-2)=-5

$x^{2}-3x-2x+6$

Group:

$(x^{2}-3x)-(2x-6)$

Factor out something common from each parentheses:

$x(x-3)-2(x-3)$

See? What's in the parentheses is the same. That is crucial for it to work.

$(x-2)(x-3)$

There... all done. Now you try with yours.

This is just the difference of two squares factorization. $x^{2}-y^{2}=(x+y)(x-y)$

Yep, almost certainly Hannah intended $\ x^2 -11x + 10$

... but just on the outside chance it was written up exactly as intended, she's back to a simple diff of two squares.
