Do I have load bearing walls?
I live in a small house. The lot is 80 x 20 and it is attached on both sides to other houses. It has a poured concrete and cinder block basement and plaster and lathe 1st and 2nd floors. There are no walls that run the length or width in the interior of my house and no walls that are directly above or below another. My kitchen wall that's next to my dining room is about 12 feet and I would like to remove it to open up my space. Is it possible that this is a load bearing wall? There is no wall directly above it or below it. Thanks for any advice.

It is possible to have no load bearing walls running through the home. Do you have an attic or a beam on the ceiling of the basement?

I have no attic. Only a flat roof on the second floor. My basement consists of about thirty, 3 inch beams about 12 and a half inches apart. Three of the thirty beams are doubled,( attached to each other), and are spread out. All the beams run across the width (20) of my house.
