    Daschund with severe diarrhea
I have an 8 yr old female daschund that has had diarrhea for the last 4 days. She has an appetite and she has energy. She has left us several spots of yuk over the past few days.
What can I feed her to help ?

It could be the brand of food he is eating.
Also I heard pumpkin is good for dog diarrhea.
If it keeps being a problem you really need to take him to a vet because it could cause him to become dehydrated.

I agree N0Help4u... I think the vet is the best coarse of action for 4 days of diarreah.
Grab some Pedialyte from your pharmacy to add to his water, it will help him absorb some of those fluids and also give him some boiled skinless chicken and white rice.

Hopefully that settles his stomach a bit but as said, the vet is the best option.

Thanks, yes pedialyte is safe for dogs... I'm just googling the pumpkin thing at the moment, I hadn't heard it before so I'll probably give it a go next time mine have loose stools!

4 days.. your dog really should go to the vet to find out the cause.
