You indicate a Delta faucet, however, you failed to inform us what the faucet is, a kitchen sink faucet? Bath/shower? What? How old is it? Back to you, Tom

Sorry, it is a bathtub hot water faucet. It is at least 10 years old and it is a generic one; those with the glass handles. But it is a cartridge type. There is a seat (black cup type washer with a spring) that it says to be sure to put it in correctly, but they don't say how it fits. Does the spring go in first and then the cup type washer fits over the spring, then the cartridge?

Let me put up a image to help. Good luck, Tom
