    My new exercising plan.
I came up with a new exercising pattern, it goes like this. On the treadmill, I do 1 minute of 9 miles per hour, and 1 minute 3.5 miles per hour. I just switch and switch until it reaches 10-13 minutes. Then I rest.

I want to know what you guys think of that. I'm turning 13 this year. I read up on news saying that if you train harder/run faster, you gain more, like max cardio, etc.

    What do you think?

That basically sounds a lot like BURST or SURGE.

Am I mistaking or is cardio what slims you? I don't see bulking up or gaining doing tons of cardio.

Yeah, what I'm trying to do is, run HARD, then slows down, then HARD, then down. I do it for about 10 minutes, which is 5 minutes of 9 miles per hour, and 5 minutes of 4 miles per hour. Then after the whole set of 10 minutes is over, I walk until I cool down.

What got me started on this new plan is from an article on Men's Health. It said that studies found that if you run "faster", not necessary longer, running faster activates a muscle (or ligament?) in your leg and run slowly won't. It also maximizes cardio/aerobic work. Gives your heart double work out.

Yep that sounds like the links I gave you.
They say you should only exercise every other day.

If you do end up overexercising remember R.I.C.E :

Rest. Rest gives an injury time to heal.

Ice. Ice should be applied to an injury in order to relieve pain and swelling.

Compression. A bandage should be wrapped around an injury for support and to help limit swelling.

Elevation. The injured area should be elevated to keep fluid from collecting there.

If the pain or swelling is intense, you should seek medical attention.

Keep in mind: every person is born with a certain genetic makeup that will determine one's body shape.

I try to do it 6 days a week, 1 day to rest, then all over again. I drink water and stuff like that, vigorous stretches... you know..
