Shower is leaking through kitchen ceiling
What causes the upstairs shower to leak through the kitchen ceiling? My stand-alone shower is leaking water through the ceiling in the breakfast nook. It is a continuous drip if the shower is on. However, if it is on for a long time, the build up of pressure actually causes the water to come through the ceiling ligh fixture. What do you think is causing this to happen?

I'm no plumber but this happened to me when we were remodeling. We have a shower over the breakfast nook area and the plumbing wasn't sealed when water was turned back on. It leaked down the pipe and onto the floor which is the breakfast nook ceiling area and came out the light fixture.
Get that shower fixed and dry that ceiling out with a fan so you don't get mold.
    Hope that helped.

Is your shower a custom tile shower or a manufactured base and enclosure? Let me know, Tom
