I have a Murray riding mower that won't start. My wife was mowing last week when the mower died. We tried to restart and nothing. I replaced the selenoid and the battery is good. Now when I try to start it, it just clicks. The engine does not try to turn over. I cleaned the area where the selenoid attaches to the body. Any ideas?

Clean the battery posts and check for tight connections. If a new solenoid just clicks, sounds like a connection problem. My check is a 14 ga. Wire jumpered from the battery side of the solenoid to the smaller red trigger wire. That will check the viability of the connections, the battery, the switches and the solenoid.
