    4 Negative Tests
Hey I wondered if any one could help. 19 days late on my period and have took 4 pregnancy tests all saying negative. I have gained weight and felt sick. My sense of smell has also enhanced but haven't got the time to go to a gp as I work but I am also scaed if I'm not pregnant then what's causing my missed period? Any answers would be greatly appreciated. :(

Stress, weight gain or loss, change in diet and exercise... These are just a few things that can cause a period to be late. Sometimes there is no rhyme or reason why we are late or we miss a period, it just happens sometimes.

Are you taking the tests using first morning urine?

Lots of things can cause a period to be unregular, for example stress, weight gain and change in diet or drugs.

If you are getting a 'negative' result with a home pregnancy test you better alternative is a blood test with you OB/GYN, if you are concerned that you are pregnant.

Call and see if you can schedule an after hours or Saturday appointment.

If you are due for your period in a week... wait. If your period does not come then test again using first morning urine.

    I'll chime in...
J_9 is a nurse so she knows her stuff, it is best to wait until your next period would be due as the hormone levels would be higher (I think) That's what she always says to do so it must be right!
