Can an Ex Felon become a notary
According to this site, a convicted felon cannot be a notary public:
How to Become a Notary Public | eHow.com
Not unless you get a letter of clemency from your governor. Until then a felon cannot become a notary.
I don't see it at that site. However it links to this site, where it appears that most states don't allow convicted felons to become notaries. Check you specific state for the details. A quick review of this map reveals several states which don't seem to disqualify convicted felons.
Sorry AK lawyer, it said it very clear on that link. But it is always worth checking with your local state.
Is there a reason you want to be a notorary.
