I've just joined a chatroom and I have already had to block 25 men because they are asking for my number. How are they getting my email address? I'm scared of going online now!

Lots of chat rooms have different profiles that allow email addresses to be visible. Some have a way to edit your preferences to block this. Some ISP's chat rooms use your email as your username.

Make sure you have a working spam-blocker. Use it.

Basically your profile you signed up on may be available, or the chat room, like this site will allow members to email others

You may want to set up a email account just to use for signing up for online sites.

But it is not uncommon to get tons of spam once you start posting online.
I get about 10 get rich quick, about 10 I have won a million dollars and 4 or 5 someone in Africa is in love with me every day.
