    How to fade black hair?
[F] So I went to a store and bought medium brown hair dye and my hair turned out BLACK! I'm not really sure how to fade it because I have a really important day in the middle of next week, and I want my hair to FADE A lot by then, can someone please give me some suggestions, I put some hair spray in tonight because I heard that works, tomorrow I'm going to try just keep washing my hair continuously with shampoo and baking soda, I hear that worked as well..
But if anyone has any other ideas PLEASE write back!
    Thanks..

Weird location to post this question. Try "Hair Care" next time.

Black fades only with difficulty. Baking soda, for some reason unknown to me, is very popular in many different home remedies. Unfortunately, its properties are essentially worthless in almost all of those applications. Bicarbonate has no magical properties.

There are a number of color removers that will do what you want to do. ColorFix and Color Oops are the ones I'm most familiar with. In Europe, it's Igora Phantom. These products will remove artificial color. You can purchase them at Sally Beauty. Be careful of other "Color Removers" that are basically bleaches (Effasol, Color Zap). Also, if you take too much of the color out, you will have to re-dye with a lighter dye.

Here is a site with instructions for using ColorFix
