    If a guy estimates he has a 40% chance of getting the first job, and also a 40% chance of getting each job.

    What are his chances of getting at least one job offer? What are his chances of getting neither job? What are his chances of getting offered both jobs?

    The probability of getting the first job is assumed to be independent of the probability of getting the second job. The probability of not getting the first job is 0.6. The probability of not getting the second job is also 0.6. The probability of getting neither job is 0.6 * 0.6. The probability of getting at least one job is the total probability less the probability of not getting any job:
