    Fan stopped spinning in comfortmaker
Ok yes Im not that bright I'm a 28 yr old female and have no ideal what to do. My air was working in my house than stopped getting in cool. I changed the filters inside and still no luck. Went outside and noticed the fan inside is not moving tried to spin it but still doesn't crank up. I have no ideal and no luck can someone please tell me what it can be and there is a sound outside where the fan is at but not loud so its turned on.

The sound outside is probably the compressor running(does it sound kind of like a fridge?) Did you try spinning the fan both directions? If so and fan didn't start, it sounds like you need a new fan motor. IF you don't feel comfortable working on this, it may be time to call in a pro. They should be able to find the problem in short order. Are you looking to fix this yourself? If you are, and you don't have a multimeter, you can just remove fan motor, take it to any heating and cooling company, or eletrical company and have them test it for you. IF they find that it is bad, they should be able to order one for you or may even have one in stock. Then you just put in as you took it out and you should be all set. Make sure capacitor is replaced with motor.

Two possible problems,, either fan motor is not getting correct voltage(very unlikely) or motor is bad(very likely). Get yourself a new motor and you should be all set.

I had the same problem, the fan stopped working and I called the pro to check it for me. They changed the fan motor but after a short while it stopped again. They came and changed the fan motor again thinking that the first one was a bad one. However, after a few hours the second one stopped working. I called the company that changed the motor and he told me to wash the radiator (similar to the car radiator) because it might be dirty. I washed well and the fan worked again. After a day of working nicely, it stopped again. The motor get really hot and when I touch the side of the AC unit, it is very hot also. I spent so much money and the guy from the company does not seem to know what is wrong with it. Does any one know what is the problem and what to do to fix it.

Did they also change the fan run capacitor? If not, they should have. If the run cap is bad, the motor many times will start up okay, but will overheat after a short time and shut down on internal overload. Odds of two bad new motors is pretty slim. If the condenser coil is clean (and they should have done that while they were there) then it really sounds like a bad capacitor, usually anywhere from 5 to 20 dollar part. Good place to start looking. Please let me know what you find.
