Kenmore washer 70 series humming at spin cycle - won't spin
RE: kenmore 70 series model 110.20712990 Type 111 top load washer.
Won't spin. Humming noise and a little burning/hot smell when supposed to be spinning. Bypassing the lid switch did not correct the problem. Changed out the motor coupling with no luck... still a humming noise but no smell.

Is oil leaking from under it? If so, new washer... transmissions bad... if not bad drive belt.

Hi, I have the Kenmore and same problem... agitages but starts humming at the spin cycle and won't drain. I also bypassed the lid switch and still same problem. However, my Kenmore doesn't appear to have a drive belt, it looks more like some kind of direct drive thing. There's no leaking oil. Any advice for me? Thanks!
