I find drain cleaners do not work well, so I use a sewer cable to open up. You can buy a small hand held one at your locall hardware store. Put a bucket under sink trap and drain the water by removing trap and feed cable into drain. Kitchen drains stop up because of food waste and/or grease being put down drain. Why I don't like cleaners in my drains is because if they don.t work, then you have to deal with the chemical in the drain as you cable out.

As a repair plumber I have never recommended using harsh chemicals. In your drainage system. Besides they only seem to work in TV commercials and when you try to remove the water you could burn your hands or damage your eyes.
    Maintman nailed it!
Sounds to me like you have a partial clog in the horizontal drain in the wall. The solution would be to remove the traps "J" bend and send a snake up into the wall,(see image). There's a bend ablout 8 inches in but once around that you only have to put out 6 more feet of snake. Flush with a tub of hot water. Good luck and thank you for ratting my answer. Tom
