I've been using tea tree oil to wash my face for a while now, and my skin feels really tight afterwards. Does this mean I don't have enough moisture in my skin? Should I change my cleanser?
Some people use tea tree oil face wash to help fight acne and pimple causing bacteria. It doesn't dry out the skin like some acne face wash do. If it works for you, you don't have to change cleansers. After cleansing you should use a light moisturizer to replenish your skin.
It doesn't dry out my skin, but I think it's given me more pimples. When I first started using it, it was great, but then gradually my skin was getting worse.
If the tea tree oil is causing your skin to break out, discontinue using it. Use a gentle cleanser that has been formulated for oily or acne-prone skin. Cleansers that contain salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide can help reduce acne. You should also use oil-free moisturizer, as it will not clog your pores.
