9 month puppy won't stop biting!
I have a wonderful 9 month old English Bulldog named Bear. My husband and I took her home at 8 weeks old and quickly realized that she was a handful. Bear is a high energy bulldog with an extremely playful character. One problem we still have not been able to break is the playful biting. Her biting was very bad when we first got her so we took her to a obedience class, so we could also learn how to properly train her. It has become a little better as far as the biting but it still is a problem.

We have tried "yelping", bitter apple spray on our hands, avoiding aggressive games such as "tug-of-war" but she still doesn't let up. I know most of it has to do with her energy level but she doesn't like to go on walks and I have to tempt her with treats or pull her half way up the block. We are really trying to structure her energy into positive games like fetch and training her new tricks with treats. She also will have these "CRAZY" moments where she will run franticly around the house, bite at your pant legs or leap on you. When you try to stop her she wants you to chase her and she bites at your fingers if you try to catch her to calm her down.

I am really concerned that if she doesn't learn to stop biting soon we are going to have an aggressive dog. I don't know how much of her biting I should chalk to her age or poor training on our part. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to stop the biting?

My Puppy was like that too when I first got him. He's a hunting dog so, I know all about high energy levels. I couldn't let him get NEAR my face the first month or two I owned him, but at about 4 months he STOPPED the biting.

Are you sure he is not still teething? 9 months seems a little old to have had him not get his adult teeth in...

I guess teeth are a source of pain for puppies.

I think all puppies have "crazy moments". I know mine does too, where he's just so out of control and full of energy he cannot contain himself.

I do think they outgrow this though. Have you tried a website esp. for Bulldogs?
