Knocking Noise In Attic On A Windy Day
    Please Help
I have a new construction 2 story home and every time it is really windy outside I hear a knocking noise between my upstairs bedroom ceiling and the attic. The noise isn't the typical siding noise, the soffits or my exhaust vents. The noise can best be described at a knocking or hammering noise that is loud enough to wake me while I'm sleeping. The noise is within about 5ft of an outside wall on the back side of the house. It seems like the noise has a hinge point that makes it constant and repetitive. Two warranty guys have been in the attic and havent't been able to find any defects that would cause this noise which means every windy day I lose sleep. Please ask questions if I am lacking detail and I would appreciate any suggestions that would help me resolve this issue.

I have a similar problem. When it is very windy I hear a noise that sounds like a tree branch scraping and knocking right above me in the master bedroom where the ceiling meets the outside brick wall. I've looked in the attic, no animals or loose wood, everything (all the beams and the roof itself) is nailed down.

I have no trees near the house, there are no animals. I spoke with some friends who said to get on the roof to check the exhaust vents for the microwave, clothes dryer, and bathroom to make sure the exhaust doors on the vents are not the culprit.
