My parents aren't supportive of my goals
Hey everyone I need help my dad told me to get out his house a few years ago while I was 17 and doing well in school because he was having a fight with his girlfriend I went to live with my mom but she's also abusing me verbally and physically and she doesn't support the fact that I want to become I doctor and she's always frustrated she's always shouting at me and saying I ruined her life I could hate both my parents but I know that wouldn't help me to succeed in life I'm starting medical school in September and that's all I have going for me I have no money no place to live no job but I keep studying everyday and my loan has been approved so I keep hoping and working but nothing seems to be pulling through my mom is really frustrating me its hard enough to get up to even study at nights and she's quarrelling with me about the fact that I shouldn't be studying? I have to study medical school is demanding but she doesn't get that so I have to just be focused but its so hard she's all I have to help me but she's treating me like because of I depend on her if I kill her or leave now to get a job I'll have to forfeit med school or go to jail lol and I've worked so hard for it so... please someone help me I just need advice:(

There are parents in this world that shouldn't be parents, and I'm sorry your going through this.

If I were you I'd keep busy as much as I can till medical school. Try volunteering, getting a job, becoming a camp councilor, studying at the library.

Do you have another relative or close friend you can stay with till Sept?

Have you tried talking to your mother? If you have, have you tried talking to her with a mediator present, like a pastor/priest, school councilor, close family friend, relative?

In Sept. are you going to be staying at the school dorm?

Thank you so much for your advice It feels really good to have someone out there just to say something I will be taking your advice seriously I think I have been staying at home a lot and home isn't really a conducive environment to study with the constant arguing so if I get out more maybe I can have a little peace just no where around where I'm currently staying I have applied for a job and will be moving closer to the university not exactly a dorm but it will help just not until August its just one month but I'm breaking down or at least was I feel much better now thank you I hope everything works out

    My parents weren't supportive either.
Often parents get caught up in their own drama and think that all kids have to worry about is school and friends.
Don't let what your parents think or lack of what they think bother you. Be successful for you.
Killing is extremely drastic. Have you tried talking to her and telling her that you really hurt that nobody is supportive and encouraging to you?

Same here I had to go ROTC to pay for my college since I did not go to college to do what my parents had picked out for me.

I'm sorry you are having to go through this. Its unfortunate. Keep your hopes and head up. It isn't your fault your parents are like this. Never forget that. Your mother should be supporting your dreams and not shooting them down. See if you can get a roommate or something it might help.
