    Judgements and levies
I received a notice that a credit card company is suing me for a debt that I have defaulted on. If I do not respond and they take it to court and a judgement is granted in the credit card company's favor, can they levy or freeze my bank account for the amount they claim I owe

Yes and if your state allows wage garnishment will also happen, in other words you can look for your employer to take a chunk of your paycheck

Also remember in addition to the amount they are suing for there will be penatiles, late charges etc. The worst thing you can do is ignore it

There are hundreds of threads in this forum (also Bankruptcy & Debt and Small Claims) that deal with this issue. I suggest you spend some time browsing around to learn how you should deal with this summons.

They may in the US garnish and attach bank accounts and pay checks based on state law. Many allow it.
