Am I Getting A Good Deal On My Bryant Evolution System
I was given an estimate for a new Bryant Evolution Series heating and air conditioner. The air conditioner is a 17 SEER model #187ANA and the furnace is a model #355CAV. My house is 2000 square feet. The estimate is $5,500.00, but I will get 1,500.00 back as a tax credit as part of President Obama's Recovery Act. So, the bottom line is that I will be getting the new system for $4,000.00. I feel this is a good price, but would like other opinions.

I have to agree, that is a really good price for a really nice system. Be sure you are getting the tin-coated evaporator with that package, and ask about the extended parts and labor warranty.

Can I get the installer/dealer to put one in my home. That seems to be cheap. LOL

Apparently costs in your locale are quite affordable. That system would cost more in my area. So it sounds like a pretty good deal.

But the best way to know if it's a good deal is get other quotes on other brands from other pros.

The only other system that compares to the Evolution feature-for-feature is the Carrier Infinity. I assure you, it is more costly due to the Carrier name. As of yet, no one has explained to me this belief that Carrier is a better product than Bryant. The replacement part #'s on similar models from each manufacturer are identical. I have an Evolution heat pump system in my home and absolutely love it. Provided the contractor is reputable, you would be making a mistake to pass up that deal.

You would be paying double that in my neck of the woods...

And like kc13 said carrier vs bryant. No difference one is grey and the other is tan. Same parts just two different names.

That must be it! The gray paint and blue logo are more expensive... :D

Not the original poster, but I am in the Cincy area (Northern KY actually) and am looking for that very same arrangement. I'd love your "connections" if they can come near the price the original poster mentioned.
