I don't know what talent I have, or if I'm even interested in anything!
Sorry if I'm posting this in the wrong category. I've been kind of concerned about myself, I notice that everybody have some kind of interest, hobby, or they're a little expert at something. They like something, so they try and find out more about it and built their knowledge on it. And when they grow up, maybe they'll have that for a job.

I noticed in myself, every time I'm interested in something, I'll research, read on it, buy it, etc. for about a few months, then I lose interest. I have no hobbies other than sitting in front of the computer for hours at a time playing games, or if not, I'll watch TV.

I have no interest in any at all, I'm not good at anything in particular. When I was young, I was really good at soccer, but as I grow older, I lose interest in that too (I'm only 13). For example, some people like bugs, so they collect them, read on them, research, go to the zoo, whatever to give them more info on that subject.

I've been trying to ask myself what I like to do. Other then playing games, my computer, watching TV, and sit around in the house, I came up with NOTHING! I'm really concerned about this. And even though I spent hours playing games a day, I'm not really good at it (you would expect someone who plays for much to be an expert, no).

I have a relative that's exactly the same as me, I'm afraid that since I spent a lot of time with him, I've learn from him! He doesn't really have a hobby or an interest in anything in particular, except soccer.

Please help me and tell me how to find out what I really like!

Why do you lose interest in things to quickly? You sort of sound like my brother. Lol he goes through phases. His latest one for example is/was biking. He started it because our cousin started. So he wanted to be cool like him. Hehe he spent all this money on a bike and gear and shoes and what not. As soon as he got his license he lost interest. He went through a cooking phase too. He took culinary at school and was going to be a chef... then after 2 or 3 years in the same chef's class, she stopped having him as her favorite student ans suddenly it's "i hate cooking..." I suppose there's nothing wrong with always changing hobbies (ok, I do give my bro a hard time. Lol but he's my little brother... I can't help it. Haha) think of yourself as being well-rounded :) and hopefully you'll find something that interests you enough to stick with it for a while.

    Hi, survivorboi!

Obviously, you're quite intelligent for a 13 year old with some wisdom to match!

Are you interested in music at all? Perhaps an interest in plants?

I can think of a lot of other things to talk about. But, those are a couple of things in which I'm very interested, and perhaps you might be also?

    Thanks!

Hey guys, if you want to know my HISTORY of interests, I'll tell you =)

When I was little, my uncle played soccer EVERYDAY, so since I hanged out with him a lot, I learn to love soccer and I play everyday at school. It was my thing. But then, as soon as I grow up and move to middle school (which doesn't really have people interested in soccer) I lose interest.

A while ago I was REALLY into fishes. I read about them, went to the stores, spent about 100-150 dollars on a tank and some fishes. I come home from school running to the fish tank to see how my little friends are doing, but, after a while I also lost interest. I don't know why.

I even lost interest in some of my or, what I thought, was my favorite game. I would play it for hours at a time for a few, I don't know, weeks. Then I lose interest.

What if I lose interest in my wife when I grow up? =( I'm worried...

You are a 13 year old young man that needs to start to research schools, trades. You are to young to be taken on the couch attitude. You need to challenge your mind seriously. What are your real interest? What r the areas of growth in the world that interest you? Try this pick out something that sparks your interest for a job for you to get the day you graduate from school.
    What would you do?
    How much would you make?
How long will it take you to save up enough money to get out on your on?

There is not a job out there you can't find out what it pays.
Or what type of training you need or special schools you will need to attend.
When I was your age I knew what I wanted to be when I grew up, heck when I was 4 I new what I wanted to be. And for 18 years I did my dream job. It was great! And retired now in my second career I am glad I spent years working on my first job. But I read and learned every aspect of my job before I was hired. Then all I needed was OTJE!
Good luck to you dude you are going to be OK

Look man I have the same problem... I feel like there's nothing I truly can get into. I used to like cooking and I used to like writing and then the interest dies. And when I graduate high school I have no clue as to what type of career I want to do. Everyone else seems like they have it all figured out but my best advice is to try all types of classes in high school and to try all types of hobbies. Look things up online. Take personality tests. Eventually you and I will found out what interests us. But if you don't figure it out you can always just travel around in a rv and live off the land. That's what I plan to do if I don't find anything lol :D

Just so people know who continue to post on this thread...

It's now old and archived. That means that it's no longer visible on the list of currently active threads. So, if you have a question that you would like to get noticed the most, then it would be best to start a new thread.

Also hopefully, survivorboi will return to address any comments that have been written recently on this thread.

    Thanks!
