    Noisy Pipes
    Hi there,

Could anyone advise me how to stop my pipes banging! When the hot water tap has been running for a short time, the pipes begin to bang REALLY loudly. If I turn on the cold water tap the banging stops. Does anyone have a good solution? Man thanks. :(

    Hi Tom,

It's only when I use the hot water that it starts making a racket. Once I turn the cold water tap on, it usually stops. I noticed it started after the water company turned off the water in the area to do maintenance. It seems to be happening more frequently. Thanks for responding. :)

Bangs= vibration and vibration's something you can feel. It's just got to be worse at one spot rather then another. Track it down and let me know. Do you have a PRV valve installed? Good luck, Tom

Tom, will have to check about the PRV. You're right, it is vibration and it seems to be in the bedroom where the hot water cylinder is. Thanks. :)

Just a thought. If you have heat trap nnipples, (see image) on your hot water heater that's where the vibration's coming from. Regards, Tom
