I have a restraining order on my daughter's biological father. My fiancé and I were not planning on getting married for another year or so, but he wants to adopt my daughter before she is enrolled in preschool. She is 3 now and will be in entering school in sept. what can we do?

Most court's will allow a step-parent to adopt after one year of marriage.

You will still need the permission of your child's biological father, as he will have to relinquish his rights in order for an adoption to be approved.
