    Underage marriage
Okay Im 15 and my boyfriend is 23. I live in Indiana. I already have a kid. And I would like to know if there's a way we can get married without parent consent?

According to Indiana law, no you can't. There are few exceptions, and you don't qualify for any of them from what I can see.

Thi is a family law question: Family Law - Ask Me Help Desk

In terms of legal advice, you should consult a lawyer so that you have proper interpretation of the laws.

But in terms of friendly advice, you are too young to be considering marriage. But you did have a child and now you have to live with the consequences.

Are your parents willing to emancipate you when you are old enough? What do they say about all this? What does your boyfriend want?

Actually your boyfriend can go to jail for statutory rape.

What the hell is a 23 year old doing with a 15 year old child?

Just when I think I've heard or seen it all. :(

No you can not. Why do you feel the need to get married at 15. Did you have parental consent to be with a 23 year old.

Where are your parents in all of this? Also this 23 year old can get charged for statutory rape whether your parents allowed it or not.

You are a minor. Please explain where your parents are in all of this.

Not just 15, she had to have been at least 14 maybe younger when she got with this guy and got pregnant.

What's the rush to grow up?

Taking care of a baby is one of the hardest jobs... no scratch that... it IS the hardest job out there. And to do it properly, it takes everything in you. 100%. No half-stepping.

Now factor in your age because you're just a baby yourself.
And now you want to go get married? Getting married at 15 will not be the fairy tale that you're hoping for. It will be a nightmare.

Don't rush into something because you think it's the 'next step'. Focus on taking care of yourself and the baby.

Now we'll let the legal eagles advise you on the law regarding the matter...

nikosmom agrees: are we even sure it's the same guy?

Yeah I was wondering the same. Hopefully she will come back and explain her situation better.

I was wondering where the parents are too, but she wants to get married without the parents' consent, so that doesn't look good already.

I set here finding it hard to say what I would like, I would like to grab a child like this and shake them and ask them what are they thinking.

15 alreaday one child and another on the way.

I do hope that this 23 year old pedophile goes to jail where he belongs, and the parents of this child get her into counseling since she obviously have issues about self respect or something.
