Network Control installation
Hello
I'm having trouble with Vista Home Premium. I've just installed an upgrade from XP Home. And I have a few problems. The PC is a Gigabyte S Series with Intel dual core processor.
1 I have no audio
2 I often get a message saying that I'm not connected to the Internet when I'm online with a broadband connection
3 I keep getting a message urging me to install Network Control I've tried to install it from the installation CD many times and have searched the net with Drive Robot but I haven't been able to install it properly.
I still get this message when I examine Device Manager:
This device is not configured correctly. (Code 1)
There is no driver selected for the device information set or element.
Can anyone offer a solution to my problem

Further info to my dysfunctional Network control
I asked earlier today about a problem with Network Control drivers. I don't know how to add to that post but now I'm supplying additional information in response to the answers I received from Scleros and VPK2000.
The upgrade to Vista from XP home was a clean installation in that I formatted the drive, installed XP then Vista straight over the top before any applications were loaded. I tried to load Network Controller from the system Cd only after I had installed Vista and not at the time I had installed XP. I looked later for the network controller on the Gigabyte site. I'm not really conversant with drivers etc and so I downloaded "Driver Robot" which I thought would do a better job than I could do. Basically it scans the users PC then searches through the net to keep the drivers on the users PC up todate. I'm pretty certain I now have the right driver but some conflict or other thing is preventing it from being installed properly.
I've had PC Tools internet security working since I did the format and installation. This isn't the first time I've had Vista on the PC. It's been running for about 2 years with Vista installed and always worked after my initial audio problems which were resolved after the SP1 installation. That easy fix been the case with this installation though.
With the audio problem its strange in that when I play a Youtube video I see the wave signal showing on Realtek output but not Windows output parts off the volume mixer. Does that offer any clues?
I'd appreciate any additional suggestions both of you can provide in the light of this further info
